We built a space with you in mind

Seven Sixteen is an organization that hosts events for young Christians to enjoy music, have fun, and connect with others. Each month, we put on The Sound Session—with live performances from Christian artists and a DJ.

Why We Gather

There’s something to be said about the power of music and its ability to unify, change, empower, and educate. We believe its power runs deep because God created it, and that’s why we started The Sound Session. At The Sound Session, you might find a friend who feels like an answered prayer, get challenged in ways you didn’t expect, hear a song that shifts your perspective, or have a conversation that makes you feel less alone.Maybe you’ll find your church home—or discover a gift you didn’t know God placed inside you. And we want to be a part of that.

at our core

What we're doing

We host Christ-centered music events that uplift local artists, foster community, and make a meaningful impact by helping provide food, clothing, and shelter for Charlotte residents in need.

Where we're going

To point people to Jesus—the only one who can satisfy our deepest longings—
through the transformative power of music.

What we believe

  • We lead with integrity.

  • We live authentically.

  • We build through partnership, not isolation.

  • We create with joy and celebrate often.

  • We carry and communicate hope.

  • We move through prayer and not just plans.

  • We pursue excellence in everything we do.

our story

Daija P.Founder

IN THE BEGINNING, GODIt started in the summer of 2023. A quiet nudge toward something beautiful in Charlotte.
At first, it felt far off. Glorious, but out of reach.
Six months later, the same vision returned — unyielding this time, but clearer.
What once felt too big started to look like small, faithful steps.
Prayers were prayed. Conversations unfolded.
And after winning first place in an entrepreneurship competition,
Seven Sixteen was born out of a longing to see God’s people gathered in joy
without having to shrink their faith to do it.

NOT JUST A NAME
The name Seven Sixteen is a nod to the last, prophetic book in the Bible
known as Revelation, coming from chapter 7 and verse 16, which says:
“Never again shall they hunger; never again
will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,
nor any scorching heat."
A promise of rest, of fullness, of forever being held.

A GREATER HOPE
This verse speaks to more than our physical needs —
it points to the ache in all of us, and the God who satisfies it.
Seven Sixteen is just a glimpse,
a reminder that even here, even now,
God meets us with joy, beauty,
and the kind of hope that doesn’t wear off.

Frequently asked questions

How often do you have these events?
The Sound Session typically happens once a month. Since we're still in a development phase, there may occasionally be a month without an event—but we'll always communicate ahead of time and let you know why.

Who is this space for?
This space is designed for Christians but anyone of any faith background is welcome! If you love music and meeting new people, you're invited too! We always let attendees know up front that these events are strategically centered around Jesus.

Are The Sound Session and Seven Sixteen the same thing?
No. Seven Sixteen is the name of our organization, which encompasses a variety of creative and community initiatives—all centered around Christ and music. The Sound Session is the name of the monthly events we host. We have some exciting future experiences planned, which is why the organization’s name is broader than any single event.

What can I expect if I go to an event?
Expect lots of fun, meaningful relationship building, and great music — including live performances. You’ll also find mocktails, small bites, and most importantly, lots of Jesus! Each gathering is curated to be Holy Spirit led, intentional, and joyful.

How old do I have to be to attend?
We welcome anyone 18 years of age and up.

How can I perform or partner with Seven Sixteen?
We’re always excited to hear from artists and organizations interested in performing or collaborating. Feel free to send us a DM or an email— that’s our preferred way to connect. We look forward to hearing your ideas!
