IN THE BEGINNINGIn the summer of 2023, our founder recieved a vision to host a Christian music festival in Charlotte. At the time, the idea seemed outlandish but nice to think about. Six months later, the Holy Spirit tugged on her heart, bringing back the same idea she had put off months ago — but this time, in more achievable steps. Many discussions, a first-place prize in an entrepreneurship competition, and lots of prayers later, Seven Sixteen was born out of a need for Christ-centered entertainment and a desire to see God’s people having fun without compromising their faith.


ORIGIN OF THE NAMEThe name Seven Sixteen is a nod to the last, prophetic book in the Bible known as Revelation, coming from chapter 7 and verse 16, which says:“Never again shall they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them, nor any scorching heat."


WHAT OUR NAME MEANSThis verse is not just a promise of alleviating our physical needs, but a promise that one day, the God-sized hole in each of us will be filled forever. And we want to bring a little piece of that to Charlotte — by satisfying the physical and spiritual needs of God’s people while reminding them where their ultimate help comes from, and pointing them back to hope — that is, the good news of Christ’s work.

Sunni hails from Chicago, Illinois and entered the Christian rap scene about four years ago. Raised in the church, Sunni's interest in music was inspired by her aunt playing the organ.At 14, she began experimenting with secular music, writing about the world around her and love. But over time, God shifted her heart and she began making music for Him.More than anything, she feels called to speak to women — to uplift, to affirm, to remind them they are seen, known and valuable.
